(Trochilidae; Ϯ Chilean Woodstar E. yarrellii) Etymology undiscovered; (1) Eulidia occurs neither in Greek nor Roman myth.; (2) Gr. intensive prefix ευ- eu-; λειος leios  smooth, soft (cf. Lydia, a renowned empire of Asia Minor famed for its culture and civilisation, said to be named from unattested Gr. λυδια ludia  beauteous one (Joek Roex in litt.)); "LES EULIDIAIRES.   ...   Rectrices intermédiaires à externes de longueur presque égale, parallèles, étroites, allongées, terminées en pointe: les externes presque en forme de lame d'épée.  Cette branche est réduite au genre suivant:  Genre EULIDIA, EULIDIE, MULSANT.   ...   1.
