DEFINITIONS

POGONOCICHLA
(Muscicapidae; Ϯ White-starred Robin P. stellata) Gr. πωγων pōgōn, πωγωνος pōgōnos  beard; κιχλη kikhlē  thrush; "8. Pogonocichla n. gen.  etc. etc.  Die Gattung Pogonocichla (πωγων, Bart; κιχλη, Drossel) unterscheidet sich schon genügend durch den breiteren Schnabel und die stärker entwickelten Bartborsten.  Typus: P. stellata.  Gobe-mouche étoilé Le Vaill. Ois. d'Afr. tab. 157.  Muscicapa stellata Vieill." (Cabanis 1847).
