"Thalassidroma fregata # ... #The birds so called here and elsewhere (supra, pp. 175 and 204) are, as I have lately shown ("Proceedings of the Zoological Society," 1881, June 21st), specimens of the Thalassidroma nereis of Gould, which I have made the type of a new genus, Garrodia, in memory of the author of these papers." (Forbes 1881); "Garrodia Forbes, Coll. Sci. Papers of Garrod, 1881, p. 521, note. Type, by original designation and monotypy, Thalassidroma nereis Gould." (Peters, 1931, I, p. 71).
