These birds are found in the tropical forests of America, and their habits and manners are similar to those of the last genus [Cotinga. ... They feed on fruits and insects, and are thus compelled to migrate from place to place in search of their food]" (G. R. Gray 1846); "Carpornis G. R. Gray, 1846, Genera Birds, 1, p. 179.
