(Timaliidae; Ϯ Pin-striped Tit-babbler M. gularis rubicapilla) Gr. μιξις mixis  compound; ορνις ornis, ορνιθος ornithos  bird; "*T. chloris; Iora chloris, Hodgson, M.S.*: probably Motacilla rubicapilla, Tickell, J.A.S. II. 576, though the description there applies equally to this and the preceding nearly allied species.   ...   * Mr. Hodgson has since proposed the subdivisional name Mixornis for this bird, and the preceding species [T. gularis] ranks with it" (Blyth 1842); "Mixornis, Mihi (μιξις, compound]   ...  Type M. chloris [Timalia and Iora chloris, XI, 794; closely allied to T. gularis, Horsfield]   ...   Shy and exclusively arboreal. Essentially linked to the two last [Erpornis, Stachyris] by its powerful bill and creeping feet, but leans towards Iora and Sylvian forms in the depression of the base of the bill" (Hodgson 1844); "Mixornis Blyth, 1842, Journ.
