(1) Pycnopygius, Salvad. nov. gen. — Habitus specierum generis Pycnonoti; rostro breviusculo, culmine incurvato, alis mediocribus, cauda mediocri, aequali; pedibus parvis; ptilosi laxa, copiosa." La Ptilotis ixoides ed il Pycnonotus? stictocephalus, Salvad. si rassomigliano per avere le piume del groppone lunghe e copiose come nelle specie del genere Xanthotis."
