DEFINITIONS
ZOSTERORNIS
(Zosteropidae; Ϯ Chestnut-faced Zosterornis Z. whiteheadi) Genus Zosterops Vigors & Horsfield, 1826, white-eye; ορνις ornis, ορνιθος ornithos bird; "ZOSTERORNIS, gen. n. (Fam. Timeliidæ.) Genus affine generi 'Cyanoderma' dicto, sed orbitis minime nudis, annulo vero albo, more Zosteropum, cinctis, distinguendum. Typus est ZOSTERORNIS WHITEHEADI, sp. n." (Ogilvie Grant 1894); "Zosterornis Ogilvie-Grant, 1894, Bull. British Ornith. Club, XIX, p. l. Type, by original designation, Zosterornis whiteheadi Ogilvie-Grant, 1894." (JAJ 2020). These birds were formerly known as babblers, but, in the light of their new relationships and distinctive feature, I suggest that the above substantive name be adopted.
