(Furnariidae; Ϯ Black-billed Scythebill C. falcularius) Gr. καμπυλος kampulos curved < καμπτω kamptō to bend; ῥαμφος rhamphos bill; "Campylorhamphus longirostris W. Bertoni (gen. nov.) (Etimol.: del gr. kampylos, encorvado, y rhamphos, pico, y del lat. longirostris, pico largo, porque es el pájaro de pico más largo y arqueado que conosco en el Paraguay, sin exceptuar los Colibrís paraguayos."
