(Buphagidae; Yellow-billed Oxpecker B. africanus) Gr. βους bous  ox; -φαγος -phagos  -eating  < φαγειν phagein  to eat; the oxpeckers feed only on ticks and other skin parasites of grazing mammals, especially African Buffalo, Giraffe and rhinoceroses; "LE PIQUE-BŒUF.  ...
