Related to Grallaria Vieillot but nasal fossæ longer and narrower ... nostrils more linear and separated from frontal feathering by naked integument; much weaker and more slender (nearly terete) bill, etc.  Type.- Grallaria perspicillata Lawrence.  ('Yλη, a wood, forest; πεζος, walking.)"
