HEMITRICCUS
(Tyrannidae; Ϯ Drab-breasted Bamboo Tyrant H. diops) Gr. ἡμι- hēmi-  small  < ἡμισυς hēmisus  half; τρικκος trikkos  unidentified small bird. In ornithology triccus signifies tyrant flycatcher; "PHYLLOSCARTES   ...   In ihre Nähe würden zu stellen sein die Genera:  Hemitriccus Nob. (von ἡμι, halb und τρικκος = Todus).  (Musciphaga (!) Less. 1831).  Von Euscarthmus durch längere Flügel, stärken und breitern Schwanz und grössere Entwickelung der Bartborsten verschieden:   H. diops. — Muscicapa diops "Natt." Temm. Pl. col. 144.1. — Todirostrum diops Lafr. R. Z. 1846. p. 365. 13. — Euscarthmus vilis Burm. Th. Bras. II. p. 490. — Muscicapa vilis Licht. in Mus. Berol. (Brasilien)."
