PSARISOMUS
(Eurylaimidae; Ϯ Long-tailed Broadbill P. dalhousiae) Genus Psaris Cuvier 1817, tityra; Gr. σωμα sōma, σωματος sōmatos  body; “PSARISOMUS, Sw.Ϯ   General structure of Eurylaimus; but the bill is small, and only of an ordinary size.  Tail rather lengthened.    P. Dalhousiæ. Wilson. Ill. of Zool.?   ...   Ϯ Never having seen a specimen, I can only judge of this remarkable type by the figure in Dr. Royle’s work on Hymalayan Natural History. Its striking resemblance to a Psaris, and the smallness of its bill, makes me conclude it is the most aberrant, or tenuirostral type.” (Swainson 1837); "Psarisomus Swainson, Classif. Bds., 2, 1837, p. 261. Type, by monotypy, "P. dalhousiae Wilson, Ill. of Zool." = Eurylaimus dalhousiæ Jameson." (Peters 1951, VII, 11).
