(sub nom. Nymphicus.)   ...   3 Replaces Nymphicus of authors, not of Wagler [1832], of Sharpe's Hand-list. Related to Cyanoramphus Bonaparte but loreal region less densely feathered, upper mandible distinctly notched; a coronal crest of two or more elongated feathers.  Type, Psittacus cornutus Gmelin." (Peters, 1937, III, p. 269).
