DEFINITIONS

HAPALOPTILA
(Bucconidae; Ϯ White-faced Nunbird H. castanea) Gr. ἁπαλος hapalos  delicate; πτιλον ptilon  feather; "HAPALOPTILA 2, gen. nov. Genus generi Monachæ affine, sed rostro latiore, fortiter uncinato, setis omnino obsito, necnon cauda breviore distinguendum.   Sp. typ. H. castanea (Malacoptila castanea, Verreaux).   ...   2  ἁπαλος, tener, et πτιλον, penna." (P. Sclater 1881); "Hapaloptila P. Sclater, 1881, Proc. Zool. Soc.
