Gallinae terrestres.  Genus Callipepla, Wagl.  Schuppenhuhn.  (Genus novum.)  ...  In der Vorausfetzung, daß andere Gattungen dieser Sippe theilweise wenigstens, ein schuppenartiges Gefieder haben möchten, habe ich diese mit dem Namen "Schuppenhuhn" belegt.   Species: Callipepla strenua.
